Adam Dunigan will now run in Virginia's 7th District after redistricting referendum passes.
April 21, 2026

Adam Dunigan served his country for 17 years, first as a Marine and then as a CIA case officer, before leaving the agency to run for Congress.

Arlington, VA — Today, after the 2026 Virginia redistricting referendum passed, Adam Dunigan announced that his campaign will move into the newly drawn 7th Congressional District.

“Virginians made their voices heard with this extraordinary measure,” said Dunigan. “They voted to stop the corrosive impact of the Trump administration by rebalancing power in Congress to confront the national crisis we’re all facing.”

Dunigan said the outcome of the referendum now makes it even more important to reject insider politics, chosen party candidates, and focus on earning support the right way — through future focused ideas and a commitment to core set of values.

“I did not enter this race to chase political opportunities created by redistricting,” he said. “Virginia deserves a new generation of leadership, and I’m ready to earn the trust of every community in the 7th District.” Dunigan added that while the maps may have changed, his campaign’s core mission has not.

Dunigan’s campaign will remain focused on lowering costs for families impacted by the affordability crisis, restoring accountability in government, and defending our democracy from the corruption of the Trump administration.

In the weeks ahead, Dunigan will expand outreach across the 7th District and looks forward to meeting voters in every corner of the district, hearing directly about their challenges, and building durable solutions to the issues they face.
