Congressional Candidate Adam Dunigan's Statement on Virginia's Proposed Redistricting Maps

Virginia’s 8th District — Whatever the outcome of redistricting might be, my campaign focus won’t change. We are restoring accountability in government and disrupting the permanent political class. I support the redistricting initiative, but only as triage—we have to use every legal means necessary to stop this administration’s authoritarian project, but redrawing maps to win on technicality is not a permanent solution. We need to win elections, but we also need to win the argument.

These are unprecedented times that require unprecedented action, and Virginia voters will ultimately have the final say on redistricting when it goes to referendum in April. That said, I entered this race to serve the people of Northern Virginia and be a symbol of change within the Democratic Party. Arlington is my home, these are my people. Whatever the map may look like in April, my mission stays the same.
